Bible Problem: Genesis 1 and 2. Were the Animals Created First, or Was Adam?

Bible Problem: Genesis 1 and 2. Were the Animals Created First, or Was Adam?

Problem:

Genesis chapter 1 clearly says that animals were created before Adam and Eve. But Genesis Chapter 2 verse 19 seems to say that Adam was created first:

And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Solution:

Genesis chapter 1 gives the order of creation. Genesis 2 gives details about God’s creation. Genesis 2 does not say when God created the animals; it just says He brought them to Adam to be named. Genesis 1 gives us the chronological order, outline and the creation of animals. Genesis 2 gives us the topical order, details and the naming of the animals.

There is no contradiction.
