The Fiery Trial of a New Born Again Christian

The Fiery Trial of a New Born Again Christian

When you first become a born against Christian you will most likely go through what is called a “fiery trial.” This is normal and a positive sign of your salvation.

1 Peter 1:7

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

1 Peter 4:12

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

During this fiery trial you may experience mental anguish, strong temptation, physical pain and persecution. You could lose family and friends. My fiery trial was particularly difficult spiritually, as I felt like I was almost always under attack.

There are two main reasons why new Christians have these trials 1) is because God is trying your faith, and 2) because Satan and his demons want to destroy you so you’ll be ineffective for Jesus.

When you experience these troubles keep your focus on Christ. Read the Scriptures. Pray and Fast. Be persistent, and with God’s help you’ll get through it. It’s better on the other side.

James chapter 1 versus 2 – 8:

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Keep the Faith, stay focused on Jesus Christ.
