“Word” (capital W) versus “word” (lower case w) in the King James Bible

“Word” (capital W) versus “word” (lower case w) in the King James Bible

One of the many reasons why Christians need to use the King James Bible, and not the corrupt versions, is because the King James Bible is very precise.

In the King James “word” with a lower case w refers to a word or words. When “Word” is with a capital W it is referring to Jesus.

John 1:1 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The “W” in all three uses of “Word” here is capitalized, so this verse is talking about Jesus.

Revelation 6:9 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:” The lower case “w” in “word” in this verse does not refer to Jesus.

Revelation 19:13 “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” The “W” in “Word” is capitalized so this verse refers to Jesus.

The Bible is the spoken or written “word” (lower case w) of God. And “the Word” (capital W) is God made flesh who’s name is Jesus Christ.
