Growing As a Christian – Prayer, Scripture and Fasting: Spirit, Soul and Body

The Bible says that there are three parts that make up a human being: Spirit, Soul (Mind), and Body.

A Christian should grow in each of these three areas on a daily basis.

Spirit = Prayer
Soul = Scriptures
Body = Fasting (Exercise when not on a long fast, or do very light exercise)

Spend at least one hour daily on these three things. For most people it is best to do the exercises in the morning.

You could spend 20 min. a day under each of the three sections for one hour:

20 minutes of Prayer
20 minutes of Reading the Scriptures
20 minutes of Exercise (and practice Intermittent Fasting)

Or, for example, you could spend 30 minutes under each section for a total of 1 1/2 hours:

30 minutes of Prayer and Goals
30 minutes of Reading and Memorizing the Scriptures
30 minutes of Strength and Conditioning Exercises (and practice Intermittent Fasting)

When starting out with the exercises you could start small (like 5 minutes a day for each section, for a total of 15 minutes daily). Then gradually add on more time as your new habit develops.

Exercising the Spirit, Soul and Body on a daily basis will work wonders in your life and your Christian walk.
